The Max-Ophüls-Platz is the main square of the Nauwieser Viertel. It's named after Max Ophüls, a notable director, who was also born in this district. Nota bene, the Max-Ophüls-Preis - an important film festival for young , up coming German-speaking film makers takes place in the city of Saarbrücken every year.
